The Gambia Standards Bureau yesterday the 26th of February 2025 organized an information engagement sensitization training for the media fraternity in The Gambia. The event aimed to enhance journalists’ understanding of the Bureau’s role and equip them with the necessary knowledge to report accurately on our activities.
The training brought together media professionals from broadcast, print, online platforms and radio stations reinforcing the importance of accurate and informed reporting on Standardization, conformity Assessment and Metrology.
Mr. Kebba AF. Touray, the president of the Media Action on Quality and Standards and Mr. Alieu Ceesay Board member of The Gambia Press Union delivered statements on behalf of their respective institutions. Senior Standards Officer for Electrotechnical Mr. Amadou G Jallow, deputizing for the Director General of The Gambia Standards Bureau, delivered the welcoming remarks by highlighting the important role the media play in delivering accurate information to the general public.
Presentations were made by various Officers of the Bureau. A vote of thanks was delivered by the Secretary General of the Media for Action on Quality and Standards Mr. Adama Makasuba, who on behalf of the participants thanked TGSB for availing them the opportunity to better understand the role of The Gambia Standards Bureau which according to him will improve the quality of their reporting on the Bureau
