Call for Expression of Interest



ECREEE in partnership with UNIDO, The Gambia Standards Bureau (TGSB) and the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MOPE) with all relevant stakeholders, invites Gambians that are engaged in Lighting as technical experts (designers, installers) to apply for participation in a training workshop for the promotion of Energy Efficiency in Lighting, and energy efficiency products.  


Scope of the Training

The aim of the workshop is to develop the trainees’ knowledge and upgrade their capacities on technical issues, energy as well as regulatory issues.

Successful candidates should demonstrate an interest or involevement in Lighting or Energy Efficiency (consumers, designers, installers,  distriuters, training business men).

Relevant work experience will be taken into account. Equal opportunities will be given to men, women and youths, with at least 40% of the selected candidates as women. We therefore  encourage strongly the application of women and youth.  

The training will be coordinated and supervised by international consultants.



Interested individuals that meet the above criteria are requested to fill out the attached application form and provide their CV. Selected candidates may undergo a short interview prior to the final selection.

The ongoing Food and Agricultural Technical Committee meeting at NANA conference room organised by TGSB. The committee had developed grain and seed standards through The Gambia Standards Bureau geared towards enhancing the production and productivity of agricultural products.

In attendance are representatives from various government and private institutions, Director General and staff of TGSB as well as the electronic and print media.

World Metrology day 2020












The Gambia through the Gambia Standards Bureau will join the international community in celebrating World Metrology Day on
Wednesday, 20th May 2020. This day has been set aside to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the Metre Convention in 1875. This treaty provides the basis for a worldwide coherent measurement system that underpins scientific discovery and innovation, industrial manufacturing and international trade, as well as the improvement of the quality of life and the protection of the global environment. Metrology Day recognises and celebrates the contribution of all the people that work in intergovernmental and national metrology organisations throughout the year.
