INAUGURAL AND REVIEW MEETING OF THE SECTORIAL COMMITTEE FOR DRIED MANGO, MANGO JUICE AND CASHEW.
The Conformity Assessment Division of The Gambia Standards Bureau is currently hosting an inaugural and review meeting for Dried Mango, Mango Juice and Cashew.
The meeting is attended by stakeholders from both the public and the private sector, including the regulatory bodies, academia, processors, consumer and producer associations.
In delivering the opening remarks on behalf of the Director General of The Gambia Standards Bureau, Mr. Ebrima Musa Jallow Director of Standardisation warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the need for the discussions to be very interactive. He briefly gave an overview of the Bureau before thanking all the stakeholders for honouring the Bureau’s invitation despite their busy schedules.
Ms. Therese Munchu Comez, a Certification Officer at The Gambia Standards Bureau introduced participants to various Certification Schemes and the requirements businesses are expected to fulfill before they will be certified.
The participants will later review and validate the specific Certification Rules for Dried Mango, Mango Juice, and the Specific Certification Rules for Cashew Kannels.
Participants will select amongst themselves the Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson for Dried Mango and Mango Juice Committee and the selection of the Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson for the Committee for Cashew Scheme.
