The Gambia Standards Bureau and The Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA) collaborated to develop National Drinking Water Quality Standard and Wastewater Discharge Quality Standard. Since access to clean water and sanitation is a basic human right, these standards once developed and implemented will enhance our general wellbeing as well protect our environment. The development of these standards are supported by PURA and facilitated by TGSB.
Today's inaugural meeting of the Technical Committee for Water and Sanitation was graced by the Director General of TGSB and Director General of PURA, Senior MDAs Officials, UTG, Private Sector, CBOs, NGO, Consumers groups and Media Houses.
Modou Dumbuya, the Senior Standards Officer for Construction and Transportation took TC members through the standards development procedures and codes of ethics for TC work.
