The Gambia Standards Bureau yesterday the 7th of November 2023, convened a Technical Committee meeting at Senegambia Beach Hotel to review and validate two important Horticultural Value Chain Standards for Chilly Pepper & Tomato, drafted by the sub-committee for Horticultural Products. The main Technical Committee had scrutinized and eventually validated the documents which are now ready for public commenting to solicit comments from stakeholders across all regions of The Gambia.
Mr. Lamin Jaiteh from FSQA welcome TC members on behalf of the TC Chair while Mr. Ebrima Musa Jallow, Director of Standardization at The Gambia Standards Bureau gave an overview of the Bureau before declaring the meeting officially open, on behalf the Director General of The Gambia Standards Bureau.
Mr. Saikou Drammeh the Standards Officer for Agricultural Products and the secretary to the Technical Committee took members through the two Value Chain Committee Draft Standards for Tomato and Chili Pepper.
