THE GAMBIA STANDARDS BUREAU & SESco OFFICIALS INSPECTED PROJECT INTERVENTION AREAS

As part of activities lined up in celebrating World Standards Day 2025, officials of The Gambia Standards Bureau and Sustainable Energy Service Company, SESCO tasked to solarize public schools and hospitals across the country embarked on a field visit to some of its project’s intervention areas.
The solarization of these public institutions requires the implementation of the right standards to ensure quality of service.
The first point of call was at Kanifing General Hospital where the visiting team was received and led by the management team of the hospital to the solar facilities installed by the project. According to a senior staff of the hospital, the installation of this solar facility drastically addressed the hospital’s electricity challenges. He thanked SESCO and The Gambia Standards Bureau for this laudable initiative.
The team later proceeded to Kanifing Upper and Senior Secondary School and New Jeshwang Health Centre to inspect the installed systems. The heads of these two public institutions echoed the importance of the installed facilities to their respective institutions.
According to the Principal of Kanifing Upper and Senior Secondary School and the officer In-Charge at New Jeshwang Health Center, the installed systems had significantly addressed their energy needs as well as reduced their expenditures on electricity bill.
They both thanked The Gambia Standards Bureau and SESCO for alleviating their energy plights. The installed solar system comprises of the state of the art equipment that can last for many years.
