A team from The Gambia Standards Bureau together with key stakeholders in the sanitary and phytosanitary system in The Gambia are currently developing communication messages to promote Rice, Maize, Cashew, Horticulture and Poultry products for commercial agriculture.
The 5day convergence is organized by the World Bank funded GIRAV project. The messages will help raise public awareness on food quality and safety, registration and licensing of food businesses, implementation of Food Safety Management Systems, GAP, GAP, HACCP, Packaging and Labelling, Traceability and recall system.
The main objective of this activity is to promote food safety and improve access to local and internal markets for Gambian produce and products.
