Following the inauguration of the Water and Sanitation Technical Committee for the development of National Drinking Water Quality, National Waste Water Quality and National Fire Hydrant standards and the successful reviewing and adoption of the standards by the subcommittees, The Gambia Standards Bureau last week convened a meeting for the subcommittees to present their work to the main Technical Committee for their consideration and approval before proceeding to the next stage.
As required in the standardization procedures, a public inquiry was conducted across the country which has generated a lot of important comments from the public which the main Technical Committee critically reviewed before making any decisions on them.
The development of these standards were supported by the Public Utility Authority. PURA provided both financial and technical support to The Gambia Standards Bureau in the development of these standards.
